Prayer can be shrouded in a lot of mystery. We worry about the right setting or posture to take. Are there correct words to use? What tone should I take? Do I have to pray for a certain amount of time for the message to go through? Are there prayers I need to memorize and repeat? It all seems a bit complex. Prayer must be for the super devoted or the super holy.
Or perhaps you might be wondering if your prayers matter at all. If there is a God out there, why would he want to listen to me? And if he can hear me, why would he change his mind about anything?
In this series we are going to break prayer down to its basic level and put it into practice. At its core, prayer is a conversation between a loving God and his children. Just like we have many different types of conversations in our daily lives, there are many different types of prayers and practices that go along with them.
Over the next three weeks, we will not just be learning about prayer, we will be putting what we are learning and being challenged with into practice that week.
