At Palm Valley Church, we believe the local church is the hope of the world.

That’s why we feel so passionate about partnering with our community to make a difference in the world of foster care and adoption. November is National Adoption Awareness Month, and we want to raise awareness about the importance of supporting one of the 15,000 foster children in need of a safe family. Below, you can find resources for parents or prospective parents of foster children, along with stories of foster care life change from a few members of Palm Valley Church.

The Irvin’s Story

This is the story of Tom and Marcela Irvin, a family who serves faithfully here at PVC. While they always had plans to become foster parents, they never imagined adopting any children until God worked in hearts to start growing their family. While they’ll be the first to admit that their journey certainly hasn’t been the easiest, they know their story is a testament to how worth it it is to adopt children into a family.

The Druyor’s Story

“I was not planning to adopt. That was never the plan. I was not ready to have children. But we had Tim. Then we had Avannah. And I was happy to be done with two kids.”

Pastor Ben Druyor says, sitting in a room with with his two biological children and a recently adopted son. How does someone go from not wanting to start their family yet, to raising three kids in less than four years, to now preparing for a fourth child who could show up at their doorstep at any moment?
